~ Silly Artwork ~

************************************************************************************

The HoS writers chat a lot on Yahoo IM - and when they discovered the "doodle" IMViroment - well, they lost no time in doing some RoS artwork to amuse each other...

Two Gisbournes  ~ by Siiri & Karyn.

Siiri and Karyn would like it known that they were NOT drunk when doing their artwork - just that it's terribly difficult to draw straight lines with a mouse...

Siiri's Gisbourne is dressed in fetching black helmet with eyebrows over it, and posesses a sumptuous gold chain, whilst Karyn has gone for the softer look with tunic to match Gizzy's blue eyes and a rather broken-looking sword.  Both Gisbournes, however, can be seen uttering the immortal Gisbourne word "Serf."

John & Robert of Huntingdon  ~ by Karyn & Gwyn.

Gwyn's John poses by a Sherwood stream, complete with log accessory and sun-in-the-sky, whilst Karyn's Robert, displaying a fetching pair of 1980's shoulderpads that Krystal out of Dynasty would be proud of, poses in the foreground by a large rock and appears to be rather dubious about John and his log.

Gulnar & Owain of Clun ~ by Siiri & Karyn.

A cackling Gulnar, by Siiri, poses with his famous skull on a stick.  Glittering rubies decorate both that and his headress, whilst woad figures resplendently on his chest, accentuated  by his gown made from an old flour sack.  Karyn's Owain cuts a smarter figure in his studded black leather attire, complete with woad eyeshadow and optional glow-in-the-dark eyeballs.  He seems to have overdone it SLIGHTLY with the lipstick, but maybe that was all the rage in 13th century Wales.  Behind him figures a portcullis accessory and below are inscribed the words "portcullis issues".

Siiri would like to apologise to Gwyn and Rhys and all Welsh for writing "Have a leek, boyo", before she gets into trouble. ;)

Ball of String ~ by Rhys.

Rhys, obviously in his Blind Impressionist period here, illustrates the ball of string that John used to sew his trousers up with in one episode.  This highly detailed piece of work is signed by the artist himself and is bound to fetch millions in a few years time.

Belleme & the Sheriff ~ by Karyn & Angela.

Karyn's Baron not only seems to have borrowed the Nottingham Guards Communal Lipstick - he appears to have overdone it with the sunbed sessions also.  Dressed in sumptuous black velvet, he gazes pensively at his cow skull whilst he contemplates calling in a welder to sort out his bent pentangle. Meanwhile, Angela's Sheriff decides he also needs a welder for his dented goblet, and stands in a peculiar way whilst he tries to come to terms with the fact that his eyebrows are attacking one another.

Meg and her chickens - by Nikke & Karyn.

Karyn's unprofessional chickens, formerly of Wickham and now of Sedgeley, demand a pay-rise in corn, otherwise they will create havoc during location filming.  Whilst Nikke's Meg poses outside her cott and tells them to get cracking, as she wants boiled egg and soldiers for breakfast - soldiers of the bread variety, that is...

Alan & Much ~ by Karyn & Gwyn.

Karyn's Alan sings a lament to a stray villager who threw himself under a passing steamroller when he heard Alan sing.  Meanwhile, Gwyn's Much - who seems to be suffering from the all too common curse of the Bent Arrow - wonders if his longbow is anachronistically correct.

The Sheriff & Marian ~ by Siiri & Karyn.

De Rainault's beloved hawk Lancelot hovers above his master as Siiri's Sheriff bellows for Gisbourne.  Meanwhile, Karyn's Marian, her trim figure garbed in a brown and green dress, screams for Robin whilst about to shoot her longbow with a bent arrow.

Nasir and his fans ~ by Angela & Esther.

Angela's Naz gets his swords out for Esther's appreciative maidens of Sherwood Forest, whilst above hovers a rather overweight Lancelot who has escaped from the mews of Nottingham Castle after the Sheriff put him on a diet of Slim-Fast.

Tuck & Gisbourne ~ by Karyn & Gwyn.

Karyn's Tuck models a robe of the Benedictine order, complete with Sherwood staff, whilst posing in a doorway of Thornton Abbey which posesses a nicely detailed stonework surround.  While on the other side of Sherwood, Gwyn's Gisbourne gallops a rather wonky-legged Fury across a flowered meadow away from Nottingham Castle, whilst Lancelot hovers above in the cloudless sky, obviously on a spying mission for his master.

Hubert & Timothy ~ by Karyn & Siiri.

A couple of "Father, Brothers, Sons" original characters here for you.  Siiri's Hubert has clearly overdone it with the Nottingham Guards Communal Lipstick - and to add to his troubles of a jammed-on helmet, he also has Arfur the Rat  attacking his boot in the dungeons.  Thankfully, the straw appears to have been changed.  Meanwhile, Karyn's Timothy - who appears to be a close relative of Mr Benn - listens smugly on, unaware of the fact that someone has bent the end of his guiding-stick, which he will only find out about when he starts going round in circles...

Lancelot and Family ~ by Rhys.

Using Karyn as his Colour Advisor, Rhys here has drawn Lancelot and his extended family having a fly around in the sky.  Lancelot is the one in the black.  The small purple fledgling in the upper right-hand corner is preparing to dive-bomb Gisbourne.  Rhys tells us that the green hawk, who has one wing considerably longer than the other, has developed naturally that way due to constantly flying around hillsides.  Mother Nature is wonderful when it comes to adaptation of a species.

Herne the Hunter & Robin of Loxley ~ by Karyn & Angela.

Karyn and Angela attempted a montage scene involving Herne the Hunter and Loxley.  Dressed fetchingly in Lincoln Green, with a bow to rival anything Gwyn could draw, Angela's Loxley clutches the Silver Arrow and stares pensively at Herne wondering what riddle he is going to spout next, whilst Karyn's Herne raises his arms and beseeches the Powers of Light and Darkness to give him a new set of antlers as these ones are getting shabby.

Owain of Clun's Portcullis ~ by Rhys.

Handy tip for Owain of Clun - if you don't want to be skewered by your own portcullis again, you get a blind guy to draw up the design plan for the next one...

Jenet & Gisbourne ~ by Siiri & Karyn.

Siiri's Jenet wanders happily around a poppy meadow, picking them to create opium, which she plans to put in Gisbourne's drink if he does anything to her, whilst unaware that Karyn's Gisbourne - who appears to have borrowed Mr Plod the Policeman's outfit - is preparing to pounce!  De Rainault's ever-faithful Lancelot hovers overhead and seems to have serious wing issues.

Will Scarlet & Abbot Hugo  ~ by Karyn & Gwyn.

Karyn's Will, dressed in natty outfit complete with designer stubble and standing as though he needs to go behind a tree, recreates one of his finest moments in RoS.  Whilst Gwyn's glowering Hugo, resplendent in his purple robes of office, clutches his jewelled cross accessory and refuses to divulge to Scarlet which is his favourite ear.

The Earl of Huntingdon's Portcullis With Padlock ~ by Rhys.

Second in Rhys's exclusive series of drawings entitled "Famous Portcullis's I Have Felt", signed by the artist in blue.  This portcullis features a padlock in black.  The Earl has clearly made his portcullis secure, and no-one, but no-one, is going to be able to get through THAT!

Two Nottingham Guards & Fury ~ by Karyn & Angela.

Karyn's Bill and Ben the Nottingham Guards survey the sheep they have adopted as their mascot and wonder how its legs can hold it up, whilst Angela's Fury rears for joy against the backdrop of a blazing sunset, having thrown Gisbourne off en route.

De Rainault and his overweight hunting hawks ~ by Siiri & Karyn.

Karyn's de Rainault - who bears a striking resemblance to Fu Manchu - does some weightlifting with one of his hunting hawks, whilst Siiri's hunting hawks lining up to be inspected, look capable of bringing down not just a small pigeon but a fully grown deer by just dropping on them from a height...
